Wine tasting at Domaine La Perdrix
Domaine La Perdrix is a vineyard run by the brother of Simon Gil, owner of the 4-star Ma Prairie campground. It is located in the village of Trouillas, just 15 kilometers from Perpignan and 26 kilometers from Canet-en-Roussillon and our campground. It takes just 30 minutes by car to visit the vineyard and take part in a wine tasting.
Wine, a family affair
Founded in the 1820s by the ancestors of the Gil family, this wine estate is part of a long tradition of cultivating vines with passion and respect for the terroir. From generation to generation, expertise has been passed down, driven by a love of wine and the Mediterranean land.
In 1997, André Gil and his wife Virginie took up the torch, breathing new life into the 32-hectare family vineyard, driven by the same high standards and passion as their ancestors. Today, the estate continues to embody a human and family adventure, where tradition, authenticity, and attachment to the Mediterranean terroir come together in each vintage.
At the entrance to the village of Trouillas, a wine cellar built in 2009 allows all Roussillon wine lovers to take part in a tasting session. During this session, you will also discover the different aging techniques and the specific characteristics of the terroir. Winemaking methods, climatic conditions, and soil quality are all factors that enable the production of a wide range of vintages with rich aromatic qualities. Among the grape varieties grown are Muscat of Alexandria, Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache Noir.

- Côtes du Roussillon AOP red, white, or rosé
- Rivesaltes amber, tuilé and grenat
- Muscat de Rivesaltes
- Corto, a local wine from the Catalan coast
A multi-award-winning estate
The Domaine de la Perdrix vineyard has been recognized by prestigious guides (Parker, Hachette) and has won numerous awards: Gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole for the 2014 Pons Rouge, Gold Medal at the 2016 Independent Winegrowers' Competition for the Charakter Blanc and Roussillon Ambassador 2016 for the T15 Rosé.
