When you book your vacation at our campsite in the Pyrénées-Orientales, you can enjoy the wonderful beaches around Canet Plage. The Roussillon coastline has a wide variety of beaches, ranging from sandy shores with long stretches of fine sand to rocky coastlines with small coves and unspoiled wilderness.
The beaches of the sandy coast
Canet Plage and Saint-Cyprien
Canet-en-Roussillon and St-Cyprien boast the largest sandy beaches in the Pyrénées Orientales. The region is particularly well known for its windsurfing, kitesurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding spots. These two seaside resorts are committed to providing tourists with the highest quality welcome and have been awarded prestigious labels such as "Pavillon Bleu," "Qualité Sud France," "Qualité Tourisme," and "Handiplage," which guarantee quality.
The Ma Prairie campsite is located 3 km from the sandy beaches of Canet Plage. This is close enough to walk there. Allow about half an hour for the walk. If you don't want to take your car to get there, there is also a cycle path connecting the campsite to the beach. You can rent bikes at our campsite near Canet Plage. You can also take the bus. The bus stop near the campsite will take you there! The advantage is that you can enjoy all the benefits of the resort without having to deal with the crowds and the festive atmosphere of a busy seaside resort!
The beaches of the Vermeille coast
The jewel of the Catalan coast, the Vermeille coast celebrates the meeting of the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees as it descends towards Spain. It reveals its wild landscapes and coves as soon as you arrive in Collioure and all the way to Cerbère, often accessible only on foot via numerous trails.
Collioure
Anse de la Balette, Saint-Vincent beach, and Boramar beach are all small coves with pebbles or gravel, located in the center of Collioure. They surround the maritime chapel "Notre Dames des Anges," whose bell tower has inspired many famous painters, including Derain and Braques. The water is clear and it's a pleasant place to cool off after exploring the village's steep alleyways. Lifeguards are on duty in summer.
